President’s Message
August Mantra: Some day when we look back at our quilting, we will find: Even in the slower moments, we continued to grow. Sunflowers continue to grow through different phases as well…sometimes more slowly than other times… Speed is not necessarily the ultimate goal! Growth in our quilting is the optimum goal. Just enjoy every step of the journey!!!
- Thank you for the outpouring of baskets given at the last meeting. If you have baskets, please continue to bring for the Basket Bonanza at the 2026 Quilt and Fiber Art Show.
- Make any 12 and ½ red, white and blue block and get a Quilters Treasure Raffle ticket free. We need many more Quilts of Valor so please help.
- It’s never too early to start thinking or making a QUILT for the Quilt and Fiber Arts Show in 2026. We are planning a Quilters Treasure Chest boutique this time with goodies provided by members, etc. How exciting to highlight and sell products from our Guild. So, start saving: unfinished projects, patterns, finished projects, rulers, etc. that you no longer want or need.
- Don’t forget that we offer OPEN SEW in one of the classrooms every afternoon after the Guild meeting. Bring your goodies and meet more quilting friends. It’s always great to get to know other members in a more intimate setting.
- How is your Guild challenge coming along? I will be bringing forms for you to fill out in August to help Diane and me form categories.
- Jennifer McClannahan from Sweet Tea Patterns will be our speaker and teach a workshop in the afternoon. She is a dynamo!
August is National Wellness Month and focuses on stress management, self care, and healthy routines. WE have focused on these wellness concerns all year! Our Guild is so on point. And, we will continue to celebrate physical, mental and emotional wellbeing! Quilting and getting together every month with like-minded friends is an enjoyable and satisfying experience! Happy Members Make a Happy Guild!
