October Barn Quilt Class
There will be a sign-up sheet for the class at the September meeting. We need to know:
(1) Exterior board (aluminum composite material) or Interior canvas
(2) Pattern you want to paint (there are eight from which to choose)
(3) Whether you want to purchase the Talara Parrish “Beginner” Resource book for $20.
The book sells retail for $32.95.
Remember this is a TECHNIQUE class. Eight patterns have been chosen for painting a Barn
Quilt. This decision was made because:
(1) The short class time of 4 hours
(2) Drawing the pattern takes up a majority of time, therefore Marva and I will draw the
pattern on your board or canvas. We will review how to draw a pattern.
(3) Limiting the colors for your chosen pattern, shortens the time spent taping, painting and
drying. Also your cost for purchasing your paints.
(4) Using a 12” x 12” board or canvas will hopefully allow you to complete painting your
project.
You will receive a supply list. We will prep your board or canvas. We are providing everything
you need except:
Your paint, a small sharp scissors to cut the tape, an apron and paper towels.
We are limiting the class to 20 members.
