What a great meeting in April! It was so wonderful to see so many cheery faces at the meeting and the workshop. And your Show & Tell projects are very inspiring! Keep on sharing these treasures! May is filled with many holidays including Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Cinco de Mayo. But did you know it was Mental Health Awareness Month? So, take time for yourself with pampering, relaxing, gardening, and sewing… SUNFLOWER Power also means taking care of yourself!
- Let’s extend the Mastectomy pillows. We have several hospitals and clinics in the area who would love to be able to give these to their patients. I am going to put the pattern on Facebook. We must have received about 50 pillows so far. Kudos to all who made one!
- Don’t forget to make a 12 and ½ inch block out of your scrap bag scraps from April. We can save them and use them for Quilt Soup. I am excited to see all the different creations!
- Anyone who brings a 12 ½ patriotic block gets a free raffle ticket.
- How’s YOUR quilt challenge project coming along. Remember, any art form may be used for your project…painting, quilting, sewing, wearable, diamond art, sketching, baskets…whatever strikes your fancy AS LONG AS IT IS SUNFLOWER RELATED! The sky is the limit!!! Have your finished project ready in November.
- OPEN SEW…every month we have open sew after lunch in one of the classrooms for those not taking a class, but, wanting to spend time sewing with friends. Take advantage of this opportunity to spend all day Saturday with quilting buddies!
- The Charity Sew Day at Five Eighth Seams was a success. I am sure Community Outreach will expand on details. Just another fun way to meet more members while partaking in your hobby.
